Josh 21-22 Conquest Complete
Matthew 28 Resurrection!!!
Both passages are moments of Freedom and Liberty. For Israel, it was the beginning of their National Moment. In Matthew, Jesus’ resurrection frees humanity from the twin tyrannies of sin and death.
This weekend, I listened to an amazing discussion with Os Guiness. I took notes and below, converge his discussion with today’s reading.
On Friday 13, Os starts the Wilberforce conference... I thought that was awesome! There were 13 tribes of Israel. When listed in Military order, Judah was first, and Levi left out. When listed in religious order, Levi was first and one of the sons of Joseph left out. 13 is a 'Holy' number. ;=))
Os challenged his audience that we not 'miss God's moment.' When Jesus entered Jerusalem, he mentioned ‘The way that would have led to peace...’ As a combat veteran of Iraq and soldier for 20 years, this statement REALLY resonated with me. I agree that our nation… western culture… the Englich speaking people… Are in a clear moment of disaster or renewal. Which will we choose?
In rejecting faith and our American Revolution, we are becoming ignorant numbskulls. Many ways to fight this but as Os spoke, I chose mine: Engage in Combat Peacefully, lovingly, proclaiming the historical Gospel of Matt, Mark, Luke, John - Thank-you, Alisa Childers (book: Another Gospel) for that thought!
Our founding fathers rejected the enlightenment when they decided to establish what historically is a ‘Hebrew Republic’ - Awesome. I am currently reading Dennis Praegar's book, 'Exodus.' Dennis describes Biblical Freedom as resting on a firm foundation. Os said the same thing and applied to today. The French Rev is an exercise in Greco Roman paganism and Platonism. Not much enlightenment in the enlightenment! As a fan of David Barton, we hear the same wonderful wisdom from David about the three crowns of government.
Os and Praeger approached this from different perspectives but both state that the Biblical view of Freedom was seared into Israel's heart and mind by slavery in Egypt. For too many today, Freedom is anchored in nothing. Only the Biblical anchor is truth and straddles history, defining true freedom.
The problem is that our ‘establishment’ sees all through technocratic and therapeutic lenses. The ‘Left’ analyzes speech, looking for the oppressor vs the oppressed. The outcome from the left is the mercilessness of the cancel culture... reaching back to the Guillotine... sort of the ultimate cancel culture tool...
Both the establishment and the left converge in the Roman version of stability, ‘The peace of Despotism’ or more commonly known as authoritanism that reaches to today and totalitarianism.
The only counter is truth - if you accept it.
The historic Gospel is a prophetic truth synched to divine power.
People don't put CRT into the big picture of analysis. CRT roots are in socialism, the French rev and cultural Marxism. Gramse - 1920s - shifted discussion from proletariat to idea of cultural gatekeepers. In US, in 60s - Herbert Marcusa - godfather of new left and cancel culture. He said CRT would not win in streets - so began long march into institutions - entertainment, Hollywood, and political parties, churches, and schools. The long march has succeeded. Business world has woke business and woke finance.
In our current moment, there is an enormous battle between two visions of humanity, justice, freedom. Today, we have no Lincoln. That means we have serious challenges.
1. Need leadership. Need Generals who know the battlefield. This is everyone at every level
2. Need transmission. Anything that takes longer than a single generation, needs schools, mentoring... But this has broken down.
3. Followers and the Church - scandal of the Christian church is that while we are a majority in America we are not salt and light. We are not influential. The problem is us.

Well analyzed and well spoken!
