I try hard to be a unifier and peacemaker, applying Ronald Reagan’s 11th commandment – Thou shalt not attack another Republican.
That said, I am a huge fan of Michelle Malkin. My wife sometimes plays Pickle Ball with her and praises Michelle all the time. Yet, I seriously wonder why Michelle supports Dave Williams. Mr. Williams is someone who produces the fruit of division. Very much like the El Paso County Republican leadership that is trying to cherry pick Mr. Williams in the upcoming election. A House District Division Leader in Colorado Springs told me that he believes “When Dave Williams loses this election, because he is such a divider and negative campaigner, his political career is over.”
Dave Williams will not get my delegate vote at the 5th CD Caucus. Michelle and I might disagree on Dave Williams, but I still think she is eloquent and beautiful. Awesome lady and her Pod casts are superb.
Let’s move one – I keep getting questions about Doug Lamborn. I have sat with him and his wife in monthly prayer meetings, looked in his eyes, and seen his heart. He is a wise and awesome man of faith who is very humble. He votes for life but let’s look deeper. In our present uncertain times, let me place Doug Lamborn’s importance in context.
Look at articles at WarOnTheRocks.com. They have a dedicated section about the war in Ukraine. Stay with me on this – but you might need to verify the details on that site.
When I commanded an 8-inch Field Artillery firing battery in Germany, I owned a pile of tactical nukes. We practiced nuclear release communications, nuke round assembly, and a warehouse full of procedures every day, every week, and every month. It was complex and hard. Failures sometimes got people relieved.
In Ukraine, according to War On The Rocks, the west has significantly tightening sphincter muscles over whether or not the Russians have their tactical nukes with them in their invasion of Ukraine. If True, THAT is a potential HUGE problem. If they can’t feed their troops hot meals, they are leaving busted tanks and trucks all over the country side, make great targets for Ukrainians with sniper rifles, Javelins, and Stingers, and - most importantly - the Russ can’t successfully implement the operational tenets of combined arms warfare… Wait for it… They are probably bozos with their Nuke release and launch procedures, too. THAT is a bad accident waiting to happen. So much for Putin’s vaunted Army he’s spent the last ten years ‘modernizing.’
Doug Lamborn is the minority leader of the House Strategic sub-committee of the Armed Forces Committee. When the Republicans win the House in November, if Doug is reelected, he will lead that committee. This committee overseas our strategic nuclear systems and space. They ensure we keep our stuff in alignment. As an old retired Army guy who commanded Artillery and owned nukes, I assert that few sub committees are more important than that one. Doug leading this committee would keep his experience and wisdom in place and could be particularly critical to keeping Space Command in Colorado Springs.
Too many nitpick small disagreements into huge issues. Doug is about life and America first. If we are smart, we will keep Doug as our 5th Congressional District congressman. Now you know who I’m voting for, and why, at the 5th CD Caucus this weekend.
